  1. I’m attempting to then add interior lights to my BMW e90. I’ll be using brought light strips to light up the footlight from the driver and passenger seats. I wish to make use of an exterior battery source, not my vehicle battery (battery finding yourself in a corner from the vehicle, and wiring could be everywhere) and also have a rocker or other kind of change to turn off and on. This really is quite simple project.

What exterior battery must i use? Lantern light 12v? Will I require a fuse within this situation? What type of wiring is required?

I needed to follow along with this diagram.

Can anybody let me know if this sounds like right?

  2. When I decode my VIN I see that my car has:

    5GA PREP. ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM

Does this mean my car has all the prep required to activate the factory alarm or do I still need to purchase some bits?

    Thanks!

  3. I can confirm that the above works on a 2007 328xi (E90) with some tweaking. Alarm beep on unlock requires QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF to be changed to Aktiv. Also if you do not have iDrive you will not have the CAPPL or CIC modules, so do not need to worry about making changes to those modules.

  4. Worked on a 2006 330i. I didn’t see the CIC or CAPPL module, but with everything else coded, the alarm worked. Thanks.
