Reset E90 Service Indicator Lights

By in Other

  1. Put the car key in the ignition switch and press the start button.
  2. Wait for all normal startup check lights to disappear.
  3. Hold odometer reset until a yellow triangle appears.
  4. Use BC toggle switch (on the left side of the steering wheel) to find the icon for the vehicle service you wish to reset.
  5. Press the BC button and the text “RESET” will appear.
  6. Press and hold the BC button again for a few seconds, and a clock looking icon will appear. After a few seconds, the service will be reset.
  7. You are done, unless you wish to reset other service items. Simply scroll through the other items and follow steps 4 through 6 again to reset those.

  1. Tried resetting the service lights using the above method. I get the reset clock revolving but it does not reset . My local auto electrician has also tried using this method and his resetting tool with no success. I’m Stumped.

  3. Just had a full service and brake pads done. The raised car icon comes up red when I start the car or when I remove the keyfob from the ignition. I also tried the above but it won’t reset properly for front and rear break pads in that although it says reset it doesn’t reset the milage. Same with the raised car icon. It says reset but doesn’t reset the mileage for next service and as I’ve mentioned, the raised car icon comes on when the key is removed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
